Basic Import Regulations
There are several ways to import vehicles into Australia.
1, SEVs Import
- The vehicle(s) you want to import has to be on the SEVS list which created
by Australian Gorvernment.
-After importing vehicle(s), the vehicle need to be modified by RAW (Registered
Automotive Workshop) to comply with ADR (Australian Design Rules).
2, Non-SEVs Import
Any vehicle(s) manufactured prior to 1st January 1989, basically you can
import any vehicle(s). Do not have to comply the vehicle at RAW, but still
need to get Engineer's Certificate.
3, Personal Import
-The vehicle(s) you want to import has been registered under your name last
12month.
-You have (or applied) Australian Permanent VISA
4, Racing vehicles (no registrarion)
If you intend to use import cars for racing only, bacially you can import
any vehicles.
